Delaware North Gaming is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook 3 to join its dynamic team at Southland Casino in West Memphis, Arkansas. Southland Casino Hotel, owned and operated by Delaware North, boasts more than 2200 slot machines, various live blackjack, craps and roulette tables, simulcast wagering and a sportsbook section. Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in back-of-house food service
- Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
- Basic math skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire length of shift
- Ability to work in moderate to high noise levels
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Manual dexterity to chop, mix, blend, whip foods and operate kitchen equipment
- Willingness to comply with health and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- At least 2 years of previous experience in a back-of-the-house food-service position
- Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
Job Duties
- Review menus and customer orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared while complying with portion sizes, quality standards, and policies
- Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly
- Maintain freshness and quality of all menu items and package products to specifications
- Keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
- Maintain the kitchen and storage facilities in a sanitary condition
- Use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory in accordance with guidelines
