The Culinary Supervisor role is a full-time position at Southland Casino, offering a competitive hourly wage of $20.00 to $22.00. This position is ideal for an experienced cook who thrives in a fast-paced work environment and values teamwork and service excellence. The Culinary Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring that food preparation and production meet the high-quality standards expected by the company and its guests. Supervisory duties will include managing kitchen team members, maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen storage areas like walk-ins and freezers, and ensuring kitchen equipment is in safe working order. The role also involves overseeing proper food storage practices, including breakdown, rotation, labeling, and dating.
This position requires attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to lead in a busy kitchen setting. Opening, closing, and side work duties are part of the responsibilities, as well as managing food costs in line with culinary leadership guidelines. Culinary Supervisors will collaborate closely with restaurant managers and kitchen staff to guarantee an exceptional guest experience. The shift schedule includes days, evenings, overnight, weekdays, weekends, and event coverage, with 8 to 10 hour shifts.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least two years' experience as a line cook including supervisory experience
- ability to effectively communicate with others and lead in a fast-paced environment
- attentive and detail-oriented
- basic math skills with an ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions
- manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, and whip a variety of foods and liquids
- ability to lift and carry large pans weighing up to 50 lbs
- ability to stand and walk for entire length of shift
Job Qualifications
- At least two years' experience as a line cook including supervisory experience
- ability to effectively communicate with others and lead in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties
- Supervise all team members and ensure food preparation and production meet quality standards
- maintain the cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and freezers and ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order

- perform opening, closing, and side work duties
- actively work to maintain food cost within parameters set by culinary leadership
