Job Duties

  • Receive payments and present change to customers
  • Function as the host/hostess of the restaurant
  • Receive food checks from waiters or customers
  • Manage the register, including all credit card and cash operations
  • Ensure a balance of the register at the end of the shift or working period
  • Keep menus clean and ready to present to customers
  • Provide great customer service with a smile
  • Dispense gift cards
  • Answer phones
  • Clean and organize the counters and shelves with sanitizer
  • Restock and fill toothpicks, business cards, restaurant office supplies, thermal paper, and Windex
  • Make sure the iPod and iPad are charged
  • Change dirty towels for clean ones every hour
  • Wipe down and sanitize the phone and charger
  • Clean the money counter with compressed air and wipe with sanitizer
  • Throw away any leftover beverages and food
  • Wipe down all POS, credit card machine and printer
  • Refill napkin holders
  • Close the drawer including counting cash tips, recording voids, comps, and discounts, counting soda money with total written on an envelope, counting the register and money bank, and placing all receipts in an envelope
  • Maintain beverage and chemical inventory sheet
  • Complete tasting log
  • Perform restroom checklist
  • Gather busser, runner, cashier, server, shift leader, and manager checklist sheets
  • Prepare envelopes for drop money and receipts
