Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum one year cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
  • Ability to use vision, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching, and speaking
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety
  • Ability to follow recipes precisely
  • Good physical stamina
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Consistently prepare high-quality food in a timely manner
  • Follow all company recipes and specifications
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work station and kitchen
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas for safe and sanitary practices
  • Comply with portion sizes, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase supplies
  • Set up line according to kitchen guidelines and par sheets
  • Pre-cut ingredients to reduce preparation time
  • Check kitchen equipment operational status
  • Stock stations to par levels
  • Memorize ingredients and portion sizes for menu items
  • Wrap, date, and refrigerate food
  • Sanitize cutting boards
  • Hand-clean knives
  • Organize station shelves
  • Participate in line checks
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and storage areas
  • Wash hands frequently
  • Use kitchen utensils and equipment safely
  • Work as a team and communicate positively
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
