Job Requirements

  • High school education or GED preferred but not required
  • must have supervised a staff of 8 or more or worked as a cook in a similar setting for at least one year
  • must be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal directions
  • ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • willingness to be on-call during time away from work
  • ability to maintain work area and comply with OSHA safety standards

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepares the proper amounts of quality food on time for each meal
  • ensures customer satisfaction of quality of food by communicating with front house staff concerning resident comments
  • assists in properly training of all new kitchen staff
  • follows highest standards of safety and equipment operation
  • enforces safety and sanitation program
  • follows and cooks by all standard culinary practices
  • works with the Executive Chef to develop new menus and ideas
