As a SONIC Drive-In General Manager, you play a pivotal role in the success of the restaurant by leading and inspiring your team. This position is not just about management but about being a true leader – guiding your crew, including team members, carhops, and skating carhops, in delivering an exceptional dining experience. As the general manager, you are responsible for all operational aspects of the restaurant, from training and scheduling staff to managing inventory and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Your role will encompass ensuring customer satisfaction by creating a positive environment where employees are motivated and customers feel valued. You will enforce adherence to company policies and procedures, help resolve guest complaints promptly and respectfully, and ensure the restaurant meets its financial and sales goals through effective operational planning. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a restaurant management or supervisory position
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and scheduling

  • Experience in restaurant management or similar leadership roles

  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Proficient in inventory management and scheduling

Job Duties

  • Manages, trains, monitors and coaches crew/team members, carhops and skating carhops
  • Directs and assigns drive-in restaurant employees as needed to ensure all aspects of food service meet operational standards
  • Adheres to and monitors employee compliance with the drive-in employee handbook, policies and practices
  • Performs restaurant opening and/or closing duties
  • Prepares employee work schedules
  • monitors and makes appropriate adjustments to restaurant staffing levels
  • Monitors and maintains restaurant inventory levels
  • places orders for food, paper and other supplies within cost control procedures
  • Completes and maintains all drive-in restaurant employment related records and payroll records
  • Reinforces a customer service mentality and ensures all employees are focused on serving the customer at all times
  • Immediately and respectfully resolves guest requests
  • Reports guest complaints to immediate supervisor and assists in resolving such complaints
  • Interviews and hires restaurant crew and management team members to achieve proper staffing levels
  • Prepares all necessary operational reports
  • Develops appropriate action plans to resolve unfavorable financial and/or sales trends
  • Develops and implements a marketing plan
