Job Description

Hypsi is the signature restaurant located at the newly opened Hotel Daphne in the vibrant Houston Heights neighborhood. Combining Italian culinary inspiration with the unique spirit of Houston, Hypsi offers a gourmet dining experience with a focus on breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus that highlight a robust pasta selection along with elegant, approachable entrées. One of the restaurant's standout features is its signature roaming mozzarella cart, serving hand-pulled cheeses complemented by curated additions such as pickled vegetables, aged vinegars, and cold-pressed olive oil. As part of the Hotel Daphne hospitality group, Hypsi aims to deliver exceptional guest experiences through creativity, quality, and spirited service.

The AM Cook position at Hypsi is a full-time opportunity for an enthusiastic culinary professional to join a passionate and collaborative food and beverage team. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the AM Cook will play an integral role in preparing breakfast and lunch offerings that meet the restaurant’s standards of excellence. This role demands a committed individual who can maintain cleanliness, uphold safety standards, and manage food preparation and cooking duties seamlessly within a fast-paced environment. The AM Cook will be responsible for various kitchen tasks from cooking, seasoning, and portioning food to stock management and sanitization to ensure every dish served exceeds guest expectations.

Beyond food preparation, the role requires engagement with other departments and management teams to maintain effective communication and uphold the property’s high standards for health, safety, and operational procedures. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and motivated to advance their culinary career within a prestigious hospitality setting. Hypsi is proud of its supportive work environment, offering exceptional benefits such as medical, dental, vision coverage, 401K with company match, discounted family and friend room rates, free parking, generous paid time off, wellness initiatives, and retail discounts. These benefits make Hypsi an attractive place for culinary professionals committed to both personal growth and guests’ satisfaction.
