Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • one to two years of related kitchen experience
  • ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds regularly
  • capability to perform continuous standing and mobility tasks
  • ability to work in varying temperature environments
  • good hearing and sight for monitoring food preparation and equipment timers
  • ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • one to two years of related experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment
  • knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures
  • ability to perform non-repetitive analytical work related to food preparation
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • capacity to work under physically demanding conditions

Job Duties

  • Check all items against the recipe cards and verify use records for all served items
  • monitor line set up before meal functions for maximum efficiency
  • ensure equipment maintenance and enforce kitchen clean as you go policy
  • prepare food following recipe cards and portion standards per orders
  • start food items prepared ahead without exceeding estimated needs
  • date food containers and rotate according to SOP, maintaining proper temperatures
  • check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
  • note out-of-stock items or shortages
  • assist in keeping buffet stocked
  • return unused food items to designated storage, ensuring coverage and dating
  • assist in correcting food cost problems and control food waste, loss and usage per SOP
