Job Description

Milliken Creek Inn is a tranquil boutique property nestled along a quiet curve of the Napa River in California's renowned wine country. Known for its intimate setting with only 11 guest rooms, lush gardens, and inviting outdoor lounges, it offers guests a peaceful retreat that feels like a world of its own. This unique inn emphasizes a calm, personalized hospitality experience where every detail matters. Guests come to Milliken Creek Inn not just for a stay, but to slow down, unwind, and immerse themselves in the best that Napa Valley has to offer. The atmosphere is approachable yet upscale, making it a perfect escape for those seeking serenity and exceptional service away from the hustle of larger resorts or busy commercial centers. The inn's team is passionate about delivering memorable experiences that entice visitors to return year after year, fostering a warm, welcoming community for both guests and staff alike.

The role open at Milliken Creek Inn is for a Cook, offering a rare chance to work within a beautifully equipped, peaceful kitchen dedicated to quality, creativity, and guest connection rather than fast-paced volume. This position is a seasonal opportunity designed to support the culinary program during a planned leave, running from November 27, 2025 through January 18, 2026, with a consistent daytime schedule of 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The Cook will focus predominantly on preparing and plating elevated breakfast dishes with meticulous care, while also contributing to the creation of signature house-made items such as cookies, crostini, and small bites that enhance guest delight and elevate the Milliken Creek culinary experience. The peaceful nature of this role means no late-night shifts, no dinner rush stress, and an environment defined by thoughtful workflows and a small, supportive team that values each member’s contributions.

This position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about food preparation and presentation, enjoy a well-paced and calm kitchen atmosphere, and take pride in their craftsmanship. There is an opportunity for the role to extend beyond January 18 as an on-call cook, offering flexibility and potential continuity. Beyond culinary responsibilities, the Cook will be instrumental in maintaining a spotless, organized kitchen aligned with health and safety standards, managing inventory and supplies, and collaborating closely with front desk and housekeeping teams for special guest requests. They will help uphold the inn’s hallmark gracious atmosphere and commitment to the Five Core Values of Four Sisters Inns: Grace, Grit, Attentiveness, Adaptability, and Above & Beyond.

Milliken Creek Inn is part of Four Sisters Inns, a family of 17 boutique hotels and inns across California’s most sought-after destinations. For over 45 years, Four Sisters Inns have delivered personalized hospitality distinguished by beautiful accommodations and a genuine spirit of care and respect. Employees at Four Sisters Inns benefit from a culture that values growth, employee support, and exceptional guest experiences, making this cook position more than just a job but a fulfilling opportunity to be part of a respected hospitality group where balance, creativity, and quality are at the forefront.
