Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Minimum of 21 years of age at the time of appointment
  • Ability to pass fitness and medical examinations
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and in various environmental conditions
  • No felony convictions
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Availability to complete required training and field assignments

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of required training at the Border Patrol Academy
  • Ability to pass a thorough background investigation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physical fitness conducive to demanding patrol duties
  • Valid driver’s license
  • U.S. citizenship

Job Duties

  • Patrol assigned border sectors to prevent illegal entry and smuggling
  • Intercept and detain individuals suspected of violating border laws
  • Conduct investigations related to border security threats
  • Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies
  • Provide humanitarian assistance to migrants and vulnerable individuals
  • Enforce laws governing immigration and customs regulations
  • Maintain detailed reports and documentation of enforcement activities
