Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years restaurant experience required
  • Culinary degree helpful but not required
  • Capacity to teach others pertinent to this role
  • Ability to communicate clearly with managers and staff
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work standing for long periods up to 12 hours
  • Must follow printed recipes and directions
  • Must maintain high personal hygiene standards

  • Strong communication skills with kitchen and dining personnel
  • Familiarity with multiple kitchen stations and baking
  • Skilled in menu creation and recipe documentation
  • Experience in inventory and budget management
  • Leadership skills in managing kitchen labor and safety
  • Capability to follow recipes and maintain hygiene standards

Job Duties

  • Assist the Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine in meal preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Assist with special projects, plate-up, sanitation, inventory, costing, and ordering
  • Oversee dishwashing responsibilities and general cleaning
  • Step in as Chef during contingencies or Head Chef absence
  • Plan, oversee, and execute meal production and presentation
  • Manage food and supplies purchases and adjust purchasing to financial objectives
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and proper rotation of perishable goods
  • Assign cleaning tasks to kitchen staff
  • Manage HACCP logs for controlled products
  • Manage labor including hiring, training, and discipline
  • Oversee maintenance and safety of kitchen facilities
  • Participate in safety meetings and policy implementation
  • Attend meetings and suggest improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Chef or manager-on-duty
