The role of Sous Chef at Caesars New Orleans Casino & Hotel is a vital leadership position within the culinary team. This full-time role involves overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant kitchen, ensuring superior food quality and customer service throughout. The Sous Chef manages the preparation of menu items in accordance with recipes, maintains cost efficiency, and monitors food quality closely. Responsibilities include preparing yield tests, ordering requisitions, assisting in the development of new menu items and daily specials, and ensuring proper care and sanitation of all kitchen tools and equipment. The Sous Chef provides training and guidance to junior cooks, leads cleaning coordination, and helps protect company assets from theft and waste.

This position demands a blend of culinary expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume resort environment. The Sous Chef must demonstrate expert-level cooking skills across all stations, expert knowledge of food storage and handling, and a capacity to work flexible schedules including multiple outlets as required. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with service personnel and other team members to maintain smooth operations. Job Requirements

  • 2 year culinary arts degree from accredited program or approved ACF apprentice program
  • minimum 2 years cooking in high quality, high volume establishment
  • ability to lift and transport objects up to 50 lbs
  • ability to work minimum 8 hours with mobility and endurance
  • ability to stand for 8 hours
  • dexterity to use food preparation machinery
  • ability to use repetitive hand motions
  • ability to tolerate extreme temperatures
  • ability to work in noisy environment with public exposure

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and respond to written orders and recipes in English
  • ability to work flexible time periods and in multiple outlets
