The Blossom Bar Department Manager role at Rainbow Blossom is a pivotal full-time position responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the Blossom Bar. This individual ensures the smooth day-to-day functioning of the department, which includes managing customer orders with accuracy and efficiency, delivering outstanding customer service, and maintaining a spotless and organized bar environment. The role requires a hands-on leader who can train employees on best practices for food handling, safety, and customer engagement, as well as manage staff by interviewing, hiring, providing ongoing training, conducting reviews, and when necessary, administering terminations.

Reporting directly to the Food Service Manager, the Blossom Bar Department Manager is entrusted with maintaining robust inventory controls for juices, milks, and other supplies, alongside projecting future procurement needs to sustain uninterrupted service. Financial stewardship is a key aspect of this role, as the manager is tasked with meeting or surpassing financial goals specific to the Blossom Bar department, including controlling costs and labor within budget guidelines. Scheduling is another crucial responsibility, ensuring the bar is efficiently staffed every day with full compliance to labor and break policies.

The comprehensive nature of this role includes holding Team Members accountable for food preparation standards, quality control, portioning, and strict adherence to safety and sanitation regulations. The manager also spearheads employee training programs to foster a knowledgeable and customer-centric team that consistently exceeds expectations. Effective communication skills are essential to this role, as the manager acts as the key liaison between the Blossom Bar team and other store management, handling inquiries, resolving conflicts, and ensuring smooth operation.

Job Requirements

  • experience with Microsoft Office including Word Excel and Outlook
  • 1+ years experience in food handling
  • 1+ years experience in customer service
  • food service manager certification completed within 90 days of hire
  • ability to lift up to 20 pounds often and 50 pounds rarely
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time to sit and squat or kneel occasionally and to climb rarely
  • ability to work indoors in a climate controlled environment such as walk in cooler and or freezer

Job Qualifications

  • food service manager certification within 90 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Maintain retail inventory levels for all Blossom Bar products including juices and milks
  • order supplies and maintain inventory while projecting future needs for the department
  • ensure the success of the Blossom Bar by meeting and or exceeding financial goals set for the department within a given period
  • ensure the Blossom Bar team follows all established policies and procedures for food prep quality control portion control and safety
  • have a solid understanding of food safety knowledge with the ability to teach and hold Team Members accountable
  • oversee side work and ensure that Team Members are meeting expectations
  • create and maintain weekly schedules to ensure proper coverage every day throughout the week while adhering to break policies and staying within established labor budgets
  • ensure projects are completed properly and on time as needed for the department
  • serve as the dedicated point of contact for on-call responsibilities ensuring seamless coverage and timely response to callouts
  • conduct bi-weekly payroll processes to guarantee accurate and timely compensation of staff members
  • conduct comprehensive training sessions for Blossom Bar employees ensuring proficiency in product knowledge customer service protocols and operational procedures
  • conduct thorough 30 60 and 90-day reviews for employees offering valuable insights to support employee development
  • resolve customer and staff questions complaints or concerns in a manner that ensures satisfaction and resolution
  • handle employee hiring and termination processes as needed ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
  • ensure the successful operation of the Blossom Bar by doing whatever it takes to get the job done
