Job Description

Rainbow Blossom is a well-established natural food market and wellness center that has been a proud member of the Louisville community since 1977. The position available is that of a Blossom Bar Team Member, a role essential to the customer experience at Rainbow Blossom. Team Members are responsible for preparing menu items according to established recipes while strictly adhering to food safety and quality control standards. This role requires individuals to be attentive and proactive, ensuring that every customer enjoys their visit and leaves satisfied. Depending on the needs of the Blossom Bar Manager, this is either a full-time position, capped at 40 hours per week, or a part-time position, not exceeding 30 hours weekly. The role offers flexibility in scheduling, which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends, making it suitable for a variety of applicants.

As a Blossom Bar Team Member, employees are expected to maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times. They must greet customers promptly with kindness and respect, demonstrate excellent communication skills through active listening and clear instruction comprehension, and provide exceptional customer service by anticipating and meeting customer needs. Additional responsibilities include describing Blossom Bar products in an engaging manner and offering helpful recommendations, effectively managing stress during busy periods, and maintaining cleanliness and organization through a "clean as you go" policy. Employees must also minimize food waste while following precise recipes and ensure all food preparation complies with safety and quality protocols. Physical requirements include frequently lifting up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods with occasional sitting, squatting, or kneeling, and working in temperature-controlled indoor environments.

Job Requirements

  • must have a food service manager certification completed within 90 days of hire
  • able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally sit, squat, or kneel, and rarely climb
  • work indoors in climate-controlled environments including walk-in coolers and freezers

Job Qualifications

  • food service manager certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire)
