The Blending Technician plays a crucial role within Sunny Delight Beverage's manufacturing operations. This role involves the precise blending of liquid and dry chemicals according to individual work order specifications while strictly following GMPs and safety procedures. The primary objective of the Blending Technician is to ensure that the production department meets its goals by blending as many work orders as possible each day with maximum safety, quality, and accuracy. The position entails handling a variety of tasks including weighing, mixing, packaging, and transporting ingredients essential to the production of Sunny Delight beverage products.

In this role, technicians are required to set up and operate blending equipment by following Manufacturing Order instructions and Standard Operating Procedures. They are responsible for managing the inspection, unloading, and proper storage of inbound materials and processing work orders efficiently to maintain the smooth flow of production aligned with the daily production schedule. Creating production batch samples is a critical aspect of the role to facilitate quality assurance testing to ensure product standards are consistently met.

Blending technicians also add ingredients, calculate quantities, verify batch integrity, and operate a range of mixing equipment such as mixers, pumps, pipes, hoses, and flow meters. They handle blending activities for different components including juices, minerals, and salts to maintain product consistency and meet manufacturing specifications. Beyond blending, technicians are tasked with packaging the finished product securely on pallets for shipment and ensuring proper disassembly and reassembly of equipment for cleaning purposes while adhering to all safety guidelines.

The role demands a strong understanding of part numbers, lot numbers, and product descriptions in line with the Manufacturing Order. Additionally, the technician must learn and apply Lean Manufacturing principles aimed at improving efficiency and reducing waste within the production process. All department logs, including equipment use, cleaning, and Manufacturing Orders, must be accurately maintained to support traceability and compliance. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment is essential to ensure operational effectiveness, employee safety, and product integrity. Regular inventory record-keeping and adapting to additional assigned duties further contribute to operational success.

This position demands individuals who are attentive to detail, capable of working a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends, and have proficiency in Microsoft Office to support administrative tasks. The physical demands involve the capability to lift up to 60 pounds periodically and work safely around liquid and dry chemicals, including biological ingredients.
