The company is actively seeking a dedicated Blender to join their team at the Springdale, Arkansas location. This full-time position plays a vital role in the production process by ensuring the precise blending of concentrate ingredients per the company's and customers' specifications. The Blender is responsible for adhering to strict food safety protocols and maintaining product quality throughout the manufacturing process. The position reports directly to the QA Supervisor and requires hands-on involvement in various tasks such as measuring, testing, and adjusting blends. Key responsibilities include reading and following formula sheets, matching the color, flavor, and quality attributes of juice batches, conducting quality checks like brix, acid, pH, sensory, and color analysis before release, and resolving any errors found in batches. The Blender works with computerized systems for inventory research, batch corrections, and controls, using touch screen and handheld scanners.
Sanitation of the blending tanks and production rooms is also an essential part of the role to uphold cleanliness and food safety standards. The employee must comply with Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements and is empowered to communicate potential food safety and quality concerns to management proactively. As part of quality assurance, the Blender may be required to perform small product taste tests intermittently. The position involves physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs, stooping, and handling containers or drums, often under wet, humid, and varying temperature conditions common in a production setting.
Lassonde Pappas & Co. offers attractive pay incentives, including a $1,000 sign-on bonus after 90 days of continuous employment and retention bonuses totaling $1,000 distributed at six months and one year. The company also provides annual merit increases based on performance.
