The role offered is for a full-time, non-management Food and Beverage team member at the Courtyard by Marriott in Irvine. This position pays a competitive hourly wage of $23.90 and is tip eligible. The evening shift is preferred for this role, which is situated on-site and requires a hands-on approach to food preparation and guest service. The responsibilities include preparation of ingredients such as cutting, storing, washing, peeling, and weighing fresh produce and other food items, ensuring that all culinary creations meet quality, presentation, and safety standards. Operating kitchen appliances like ovens, grills, microwaves, and fryers is part of the daily workflow, alongside testing and assuring food is cooked to perfection. The role also involves assembling and disassembling workstations, serving food in correct portions, cleaning kitchen and dining areas, and ensuring all equipment and stored food is maintained at the proper temperature.

In addition to food preparation, the position demands proficient customer service skills including taking orders, processing payments via Micros POS systems, and relaying special dietary requirements to the kitchen staff. Teamwork and communication are crucial, with expectations to maintain a professional demeanor, uphold company policies on safety and cleanliness, and positively contribute to the team environment. This role requires physical stamina to stand, sit or walk for long periods and to handle tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching within safe weight limits.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time during evening shifts
  • Experience in food preparation or food service preferred
  • Ability to operate kitchen appliances safely
  • Good communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving standing, lifting, and bending

Job Qualifications
