Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and personable Food and Beverage Server to join our team. This role is fundamental in maintaining the high standards of guest service that our brand is known for. The Food and Beverage Server will be responsible for serving food and beverages with a friendly and professional demeanor, adhering strictly to company and hotel standards regarding guest service and sustainability initiatives. Sustainable practices, such as those outlined in our EarthView program, are an integral part of our operational ethos, ensuring that all activities contribute positively to environmental stewardship.
The ideal candidate will be involved in various aspects of food and beverage service including setting up necessary supplies, taking and processing customer orders, preparing drinks and food items when needed, and ensuring that the dining area is clean and properly stocked throughout their shift. This position also requires individuals to communicate effectively with kitchen staff about special dietary requests and allergies to guarantee guest satisfaction and safety.
Further responsibilities include handling cash transactions accurately, adhering to state and federal laws regarding the serving of alcoholic beverages, and helping out with other food and beverage functions such as bartending and bussing during peak periods or staffing shortages. Safety is paramount in all tasks performed, and employees are expected to follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and use protective safety equipment as necessary.
Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Food and Beverage Server must be capable of standing for extended periods, walking, bending, and lifting moderately heavy items. Flexibility in work schedule is also essential, as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of our guests. This role is not just about serving food and drinks; it is about creating memorable guest experiences by embodying hospitality excellence, from the first greeting to the final farewell.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous food and beverage experience or equivalent training required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds
- Willingness to work varying schedules including holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to follow OSHA and company safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous food and beverage service experience or equivalent training required
Job Duties
- Serve food and beverage to guests in a courteous and friendly manner in accordance with brand and hotel standards
- Set up necessary supplies, food, and beverages at the beginning of shifts and maintain stocked work areas
- Take customer orders, input orders, handle payments and provide change
- Communicate special dietary needs, allergies, and meal requests to the kitchen
- Prepare food, coffee, beverages, including alcohol when necessary
- Portion, chop, and store ingredients for cooking as needed
- Perform additional food and beverage functions such as bartending and bussing during peak times or staffing shortages
- Manage cash bank at shift end, complete cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, secure bank accurately
- Clean equipment and work areas thoroughly, lock equipment doors
- Comply with legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages
- Follow sustainability guidelines related to the EarthView program
- Adhere to safety protocols including OSHA standards and using protective gear
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction and comfort
- Perform other duties assigned by management
