This job opportunity is for the position of Bistro Server within HHM Hotels. The Bistro Server is responsible for delivering courteous and friendly food and beverage service to guests, aligned with the hotel’s brand standards and guest service expectations. This role involves interacting directly with customers to take orders, process payments, and communicate specific dietary needs to the kitchen. The server also supports the preparation of food and beverages, including alcoholic drinks, and assists with food service tasks when required, especially during busy periods. The position demands adherence to policies relating to alcohol service and emphasizes guest safety and satisfaction throughout each shift.

In addition to serving guests, the Bistro Server also performs operational tasks such as setting up work areas with necessary supplies, maintaining cleanliness and organization, managing cash handling and reporting duties, and practicing safe work habits according to OSHA and MSDS standards. Flexibility in the work schedule is essential, including the ability to work holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts, as well as the physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and perform other activities required by the role.

Job Duties

  • Set up necessary supplies, food, and beverage at the beginning of the shift and maintain a stocked work area at all times
  • Take orders from customers, input orders, obtain payment and provide change
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
  • Prepare food, coffee and other beverages, including alcohol, when necessary
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food, when necessary
  • Perform other food and beverage functions such as bartending and bussing in the event of staffing shortages or peak periods
  • Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank in accordance with established policies
