Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food preparation or a related field preferred
  • ability to operate kitchen appliances
  • capable of handling cash transactions
  • good communication skills
  • ability to stand or walk for long shifts
  • physical ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • ability to follow safety procedures
  • reliable and punctual
  • fluency in Spanish beneficial
  • willingness to work evening shifts

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking including chopping, cutting, and storing foods
  • wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
  • weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
  • prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation checklist
  • prepare cold meals
  • operate ovens, grills, microwaves and fryers
  • taste food to determine if cooked properly
  • monitor food quality while preparing meals
  • assemble and disassemble workstation
  • serve food in proper portions and containers
  • clean and sanitize kitchen area, tables, utensils, knives and equipment
  • monitor and ensure appliances and foods are kept at proper temperatures
  • take customer orders, record them in Micros, process payments and provide change
  • communicate special food requirements, allergies and nutritional needs to kitchen
  • prepare food, coffee and other beverages
  • collect payments and complete all orders
  • assist in food and beverage areas including cleaning and preparing tables, delivering food to guests, cleaning meal preparation areas and lobby areas
  • count cash at the end of shift, complete register reports, resolve discrepancies, hand receipts and close register
  • obey all company safety policies and procedures and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries and hazardous conditions
  • maintain professional appearance and clean uniform
  • protect company property and maintain confidentiality
  • communicate professionally
  • build and maintain positive work relationships
  • support team to achieve common goals
  • listen and appropriately respond to coworkers concerns
  • ensure compliance with quality standards
