Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in human service related field from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Two years of experience working with children in a residential setting or High School Diploma/GED plus 60 credit hours and five years residential child care experience
  • Successful completion of all staff education requirements including pre-service training, NCI, CPR, and ARC model
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Minimum 25 years of age
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language competency required
  • Ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in stressful situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish trust and positive rapport with children
  • Ability to prioritize job duties and children's needs
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and documentation programs
  • Ability to drive a passenger van
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and drive for extended periods
  • Ability to lift/move objects or youth over 40 pounds
  • Ability to provide physical restraint to youth
  • Visual, hearing, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform essential duties
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Must maintain an on-call status
  • Duties involve contact with traumatized youth

Job Duties

  • Supervises staff on the evening shift who provide services for the residential care of Maryville youth
  • Implements organizational procedures to ensure a daily routine in the program
  • Oversees intakes and discharges in coordination with program and case managers
  • Coordinates with care team for case management meetings, clinician interactions, and recreational activities
  • Provides feedback to evening staff on policy implementation and professional standards
  • Documents incidents in Significant Incident Reports and Internal Reports
  • Reviews documentation and administrative forms for accuracy and compliance
  • Monitors staff compliance with required reporting
  • Ensures preparation of evening meals and snacks according to standards
  • Participates in and leads staff training and huddles
  • Participates in performance quality improvement initiatives
  • Implements Mary's policy on Zero Tolerance to Sexual Abuse
  • Ensures safety precautions in all activities
  • Implements emergency routines and procedures as necessary
  • Reports activities and concerns to supervisor
  • Attends a minimum of 40 hours advanced training/workshops annually
  • Performs other duties as assigned
