Job Requirements

  • Two years of experience in the transportation and distribution industry
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • knowledge of motor carrier load tendering, routing, rate activities, ocean import activities, freight tracing and expediting
  • knowledge of supply chain distribution including order processing and replenishment programs
  • basic to intermediate proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish both verbal and written
  • strong time-management and organizational skills
  • ability to prioritize tasks and be detail-oriented
  • ability to work with limited supervision and multitask
  • strong initiative
  • able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and employees
  • ability to think logically and follow procedures
  • willing to work extended hours, holidays, and weekends as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in the transportation and distribution industry to include import, documentation, coordinating inland trucking for LCL/FCL, cargo consolidation/deconsolidation, warehouse distribution programs, segregation, cross-dock, PO management, retail distribution, vendor consigned shipments, and special programs
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • knowledge in motor carrier load tendering, routing, rate activities, ocean import activities, freight tracing and expediting activities
  • knowledge in supply chain distribution activities including order processing and replenishment programs
  • basic to intermediate proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, verbal and written
  • strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and be detail-oriented
  • ability to work with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors and fellow employees

Job Duties

  • Analyzes and coordinates the movement of inbound international shipments via both ocean and air to include review of ocean BL or airway bill, cargo clearance documents, arrival notices, submission of delivery orders, and coordination of domestic transportation
  • reviews packing slips, commercial invoices, advance shipment notices and routing instructions for the proper distribution of cargo through customers warehouse distribution network
  • coordinates inventory of stock and ensures product orders are processed within customer routing, ship windows and warehouse release guidelines
  • arranges warehousing and transportation of shipments to customers and investigates and responds to inquiries regarding distribution and shipping
  • responsible for the entire life cycle of a shipment, tracking, disposition based on customer requirements, cargo distribution, retail routing and vendor routing requirements, internal allocation, delivery and end delivery
  • maintains management and overseas offices informed on a regular basis, alerting management of business opportunities, problems or issues
  • verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments
  • responsible for the billing of all services rendered within the companys defined billing cycle
  • responsible for timely and accurate updating of events and tracking report, billing reports, and other reports associated with assigned accounts
  • works with air and ocean transportation carriers to ensure all shipment charges have been satisfied and documents presented in order to maintain the flow of cargo release
  • recommends processes and concepts to improve movement efficiencies, cost savings, and profitability as applicable
  • maintains and updates standard operations procedures
  • performs other related duties as assigned
