Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of work experience preferably in a medical or clinical setting
- Bilingual Spanish/English, Cantonese/English, Vietnamese/English, or other Asian language preferred
- Ability to pass Department of Federal Justice background check
- Proficient with computer programs including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and respond to emergencies calmly
- Commitment to organizational values and working with diverse populations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to complete paperwork neatly and legibly
- Reliable, punctual, cooperative, and team-oriented
- Experience with non-profit or community social service agencies a plus
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Job Qualifications
- Two years demonstrated work experience preferably in a medical or clinical setting
- High School diploma or GED required
- Ability to pass Department of Federal Justice background check
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English, Cantonese/English, Vietnamese/English, or other Asian languages strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to be polite, diplomatic, and maintain professional boundaries
- Ability to respond calmly to emergencies and high-pressure situations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, email, and willingness to learn other technologies
- Experience working in nonprofit or community social service agencies with diverse patient populations preferred

Job Duties
- Greet and assist patients courteously utilizing G.U.E.S.T. standards
- Assist patient with pre-enrollment application and determine eligibility for CHDP program
- Process Medi-Cal provider portal forms to determine eligibility and participation
- Assist patients in completing Medi-Cal choice forms and submit to DHCS
- Register new patients and ensure complete information on registration forms
- Enter patient demographic and visit information into Practice Management system and EMR
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments
- Screen telephone calls, make appointments, take messages, transfer calls, and make patient reminder calls
- Inform patients of Notice of Privacy Practices and obtain consent
- Collect patient financial and demographic information
- Identify and enroll patients in healthcare entitlement programs using Federal Poverty Guidelines and One-E-App
- Assist patients in interpreting bills and refer them to resources
- Develop signs and materials for non-English speaking patients
- Provide interpretation services for non-English speaking patients
- Treat all guests with empathy, dignity, and respect
- Complete reports and paperwork neatly and thoroughly
- Enter data and support front office with report entry
- Understand and follow organizational programs, policies, and procedures
- Participate in training and development opportunities
- Work with nursing staff to flag urgent medical needs in EMR
- Maintain forms and office supplies
- Secure clinic at the end of day and prepare reception for daily operations
- Assist with indexing and scanning documentation into EMR
- Support patient billing processing for Healthy San Francisco and CHDP PM 160
- Follow front office emergency procedures
- Photocopy archived patient charts as needed
- Deliver QFT specimens daily to Department of Public Health
- Attend eligibility program trainings and pass certification tests for CAA and CEC roles
- Adhere to ethical standards of Healthy San Francisco and Cover California programs
- Participate in team meetings and support team communication
- Manage stress in high-pressure situations calmly
- Demonstrate integrity and respectful communication
- Cooperate with coworkers and community
- Contribute to team-based care setting.
