Job Requirements

  • Familiarity with medical office and terminology
  • Ability to properly answer incoming telephone calls
  • Must have professional phone etiquette and be professional in appearance and behavior
  • Ability to complete all aspects of the position in either English and/or Spanish
  • Willingness and ability to work closely and effectively with other team members
  • Pleasant personality
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Must be able to room patients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Reliable and strong work ethic with consistent attendance
  • Ability to multitask and properly room, assess, and brief providers on multiple patients often simultaneously
  • Demonstrate ability to conform to HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality
  • Previous electronic medical record (EMR) experience or exposure helpful
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited, verifiable medical assistantship program
  • English and Spanish fluency
  • Ability to provide references as needed

Job Duties

  • Schedule patients
  • Enter information into medical computer system
  • Check patients in and out
  • Edit patient charts as needed
  • Verify patients' insurance and benefits
  • Room patients courteously and professionally when needed
  • Answer incoming telephone calls with professional phone etiquette
