The Event Supervisor role, also referred to as the Janitorial Supervisor, is a critical position responsible for overseeing janitorial operations during event shifts at Rupp Arena/CBC. This role involves comprehensive administrative oversight, ensuring that the facility maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors, participants, and staff. The Event Supervisor reports directly to the Site Manager and acts as a key leader on their shift, entrusted with managing labor, resources, and quality control to meet and exceed the company’s high standards.
The role demands strong organizational skills to plan and execute cleaning schedules efficiently while controlling labor hours and managing costs related to materials and equipment. The Event Supervisor is charged with communicating and enforcing productivity, safety, and quality standards, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the company’s policies and client expectations. Training and coaching employees, conducting regular inspections of the venue, responding promptly to client requests, and managing safety incidents are integral parts of the day-to-day responsibilities.
Furthermore, the Event Supervisor plays a vital role in human resource functions during their shifts. This includes conducting employee evaluations, handling disciplinary actions, overseeing training programs, and maintaining detailed records such as labor reports and inspection checklists. Keeping equipment in optimal condition and immediately addressing maintenance or safety concerns are also part of the supervisor’s duties, reinforcing the venue’s commitment to operational excellence.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive pay rate of $21.00 per hour. The ideal candidate must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, with bilingual Spanish skills preferred to accommodate diverse team members. Physical capability to perform demanding tasks such as lifting heavy weights, climbing ladders, and working in varying environmental conditions is essential. Reliable transportation and a service-oriented attitude are also required to ensure punctuality and positive interactions with colleagues and customers.

Job Requirements
- must be able to follow instructions from supervisor and complete all tasks effectively
- must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- must be able to carry, push and/or pull, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl
- must be able to climb up and down a ladder
- ability to work in hot, cold, and/or damp environments
- reliable transportation

Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- janitor/cleaning experience is a plus
- supervising experience is a plus
- bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred
- ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Job Duties
- organize, plan, and execute cleaning operations for assigned shifts
- control labor hours and labor, materials, and equipment costs
- communicate acceptable productivity, safety, and quality standards and enforce them
- ensure all supplies, equipment, and labor are available to complete assigned tasks
- provide employee training and communicate company/client policies and procedures
- conduct walk-thru inspections of the facility throughout the length of the shift
- conduct in-service meetings with team leaders and employees
