Job Description
Genoa Healthcare is a specialized pharmacy care services company that operates under the umbrella of Optum and UnitedHealth Group, two global leaders in information and technology-enabled health services. With a strong commitment to improving the mental health and addiction treatment communities, Genoa Healthcare focuses not just on dispensing medication but on transforming lives. Their approach is deeply rooted in collaborative, team-based care, partnering closely with community-based providers to ensure that individuals with serious mental health or chronic illnesses receive the appropriate medication and support to follow their treatment plans effectively. The company’s personalized services encompass in-clinic pharmacies and medication management solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of their patients, setting new standards in pharmacy care.
Joining Genoa Healthcare means becoming part of a mission-driven organization that values compassion, connectivity, and professional growth. The company fosters an environment where employees are encouraged to contribute to meaningful healthcare outcomes, particularly for those facing complex health challenges. As part of UnitedHealth Group’s family, Genoa Healthcare benefits from vast resources and innovative technologies, which empower their pharmacy teams to deliver high-quality care with precision and empathy. This specific role is based in the onsite Hartford, CT pharmacy location, offering a 40-hour work week from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, underscoring the company’s commitment to work-life balance and a supportive working environment.
The Bilingual (English/Spanish) Pharmacy Technician position is a critical role within Genoa Healthcare’s mental health and specialty pharmacy team. The individual in this role will perform essential functions including the dispensing of medical prescriptions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and fulfilling clerical duties that support the operational efficiency of the pharmacy. The technician serves as a vital link between consumers, clinic staff, and pharmacists by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the accurate handling of prescription orders. Responsibilities also include ordering, receiving, and managing pharmacy inventory, processing wholesaler medication orders, and assisting in maintaining compliance with all federal and state pharmacy regulations. Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—are essential, as is the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary health team.
This position offers a vital opportunity for pharmacy technicians who are passionate about behavioral health to join a forward-thinking team that values growth, recognition, and professional development. The company supports career advancement and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.15 to $28.80, dependent on local labor conditions, education, experience, and certifications. Employees can expect access to a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and a 401k plan. Genoa Healthcare emphasizes inclusivity and equal employment opportunities, reflecting its dedication to fostering a diverse workplace that champions health equity and community impact. Candidates can expect a supportive environment conducive to both personal and career growth while playing a crucial role in a team dedicated to changing lives through superior pharmacy care.
