Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • two years of prior experience in behavioral health, hospital, security or related setting may offset education
  • ability to complete CPI training
  • physical ability to perform extensive walking, standing, sitting, talking, listening and documenting
  • adherence to standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment
  • ability to work with minimal supervision
  • strong critical thinking skills
  • ability to manage stressful situations effectively

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • prior experience within a behavioral health, hospital, security, or other related setting
  • ability to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
  • strong critical thinking and decisive judgment
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work independently in stressful environments

Job Duties

  • Continuous visibility and rounding throughout assigned areas to promote positive perception of safety for all patients, visitors and staff
  • ability to identify patients at risk and provide necessary clinical and security notifications
  • attend to escalating incidents such as Dr. Strong
  • first responder to patient threats of violence
  • participate in safety rounds with Emergency Department and/or Behavioral Health Unit staff
  • complete appropriate documentation of various incidents
  • perform other duties as assigned
