Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- two years of prior experience in behavioral health, hospital, security or related setting may offset education
- ability to complete CPI training
- physical ability to perform extensive walking, standing, sitting, talking, listening and documenting
- adherence to standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment
- ability to work with minimal supervision
- strong critical thinking skills
- ability to manage stressful situations effectively
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- prior experience within a behavioral health, hospital, security, or other related setting
- ability to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
- strong critical thinking and decisive judgment
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work independently in stressful environments
Job Duties
- Continuous visibility and rounding throughout assigned areas to promote positive perception of safety for all patients, visitors and staff
- ability to identify patients at risk and provide necessary clinical and security notifications
- attend to escalating incidents such as Dr. Strong
- first responder to patient threats of violence
- participate in safety rounds with Emergency Department and/or Behavioral Health Unit staff
- complete appropriate documentation of various incidents
- perform other duties as assigned
