With a diverse portfolio that includes full-service and focused hotels across major cities, Sonesta boasts a substantial network of owned, managed, and franchised properties. This widespread presence allows the company to offer exceptional hospitality experiences everywhere guests want to be. Sonesta is driven by a passion for the human side of hospitality, delivering service with enthusiasm, loyalty with purpose, and guest experiences that foster genuine connections. With over 1000 properties across eight countries, Sonesta International Hotels is committed to quality, value, and outstanding service, aiming to create memorable stays for every guest at every location.

The Beverage Server role at Sonesta International Hotels is a critical position that directly impacts guest satisfaction and service quality in the hotel’s bar or cocktail lounge environment. This role involves serving beverages to patrons seated at tables, managing orders from initial placement to delivery with the utmost attention to detail and customer service. The Beverage Server acts as a liaison between guests and the bartending team, taking orders accurately and efficiently, adding appropriate garnishes, and ensuring beverages are presented impeccably along with cocktail napkins. Additionally, this role involves computing bills, accepting payments, serving light meals and hors d'oeuvres, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The Beverage Server must also comply with service standards set forth in the Royal Sonesta Hotel Beverage Manual and demonstrate respect and professionalism when interacting with both guests and colleagues.

Beyond these tasks, the Beverage Server embodies Sonesta’s commitment to hospitality by delivering passionate and engaging service. They are expected to recognize individual guests, anticipate their unique needs, and consistently exceed expectations through the company’s GUEST model. This includes greeting guests warmly with a smile, using eye contact and the guest’s name, anticipating and addressing needs promptly, resolving any complaints or requests responsibly, and thanking guests sincerely. This role requires a balance of interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within the hotel team.

Candidates suitable for this position typically have a high school diploma or GED, relevant experience or training in hospitality service, and certifications such as the Louisiana Responsible Vendors Certification. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems like MICROS is advantageous. The physical demands of the job require the ability to stand, walk, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain close vision and depth perception. Sonesta International Hotels fosters an inclusive and respectful work environment where employees are valued and given opportunities to thrive within a supportive team structure.

This full-time position at Sonesta offers a competitive salary and a robust benefits package, recognizing that employee health, financial security, and well-being are paramount. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a health savings account with company match, 401(k) retirement plans with company match, paid vacation and sick days, hotel discounts, educational assistance, paid parental leave, company-paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and various employee perks and discounts.
