The position of Beer and Wine Manager at Redner's Markets is a crucial role within the Beer and Wine department, responsible for overseeing all aspects of beer and wine sales and operations within the supermarket. This non-exempt role reports directly to the Store Director and plays a pivotal part in maintaining department profitability and customer satisfaction. The Beer and Wine Manager manages ordering, storage, invoicing, inventory control, staffing, and financial performance related to the beer and wine category.

This role requires an individual who can forecast demand accurately, plan effective procurement, and lead a team to maximize sales and revenue. The manager works closely with beverage vendors to coordinate product displays and seasonal offerings, ensuring that the department aligns with customer preferences and market trends. Additionally, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations, including PLCB guidelines, is a key aspect of this position. The manager also oversees training programs to ensure staff understand products and policies concerning alcohol sales, enhancing customer service and operational efficiency.

In this role, the Beer and Wine Manager will also maintain excellent communication across departments, particularly with the Deli department to ensure food availability in the café, and regularly update store management on departmental objectives and challenges. The ability to uphold a high standard of inventory accuracy, using automated systems like DAX, is essential to control stock levels and minimize waste. Furthermore, the manager is expected to create effective staff schedules that ensure adequate coverage and a positive working environment focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences.

The Beer and Wine Manager will engage with customers directly, responding proactively to their needs while promoting a safe and legally compliant environment for alcohol sales. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods and handle merchandise weighing up to 40 pounds. This position offers a dynamic work environment within a respected supermarket chain and an opportunity to develop leadership skills in retail management and beverage operations.

Job Duties

  • Manage all beer and wine sales and day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards
