The role of Beverage Manager at Ruth's Chris Steak House is a full-time position designed for a seasoned professional with a passion for elevating beverage programs in a fine dining setting. This position is pivotal in ensuring an exceptional guest experience by managing the complete beverage portfolio, which includes wine, spirits, and specialty cocktails. The Beverage Manager will oversee the bar operations and team, drive beverage sales, and maintain a sharp focus on cost control and inventory management. This leadership role requires collaboration with restaurant management to create innovative promotions and stay ahead of industry trends, all while maintaining compliance with local and state alcohol laws. Job Requirements

  • must be able to lift, handle and carry beverage items, supplies, glass racks, smallwares and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach and squat on a frequent basis to obtain and store food, beverage items, smallwares and service equipment
  • must be able to constantly stand and exert well-paced mobility for a period up to four hours in length
  • must be able to communicate effectively and listen attentively to supervisors, employees and guests

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in beverage or bar management, preferably in upscale dining
  • strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and mixology
  • proven leadership and team development skills
  • excellent communication and guest service abilities
  • ability to manage inventory, budgets, and cost controls
  • certification (Sommelier, WSET, or similar) is a plus

Job Duties

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance the restaurant's wine, cocktail, and beverage program
  • train and mentor bar staff, ensuring high standards of service and product knowledge
  • manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls to meet financial goals
  • collaborate with management to create promotions and drive beverage sales
  • ensure compliance with all local and state alcohol regulations
  • maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • monitor trends and introduce innovative beverage offerings
