The role being offered is that of a Casino Beverage Server, a position that plays a vital part in ensuring guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience while visiting PENN Entertainment’s properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing fast, friendly, and professional beverage service in a high-energy, fast-paced casino environment. Serving as an ambassador of goodwill, the beverage server promotes casino events, engages with guests using personalized service and guest recognition, and helps maintain a welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities include taking drink orders, communicating effectively with bartenders, assisting in drink preparation, and ensuring guests receive their beverages efficiently, with a target round time of 20 minutes or less. The role demands excellent customer service skills, attention to detail in handling money and tray service, as well as monitoring guest alcohol consumption according to company guidelines to promote responsible service.
Physical requirements are integral to this role, as it requires the mobility to carry full cocktail trays weighing up to 20 pounds for extended periods and the ability to work in environments with second-hand smoke, bright lights, noise, and crowded conditions. The position also requires availability to work flexible and sometimes demanding schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Completion of the ServSafe Alcohol training certification is mandatory, reflecting the company’s strong emphasis on compliance and safety. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Read, write legibly, understand and speak English
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Count money and change correctly
- Know or be able to learn tray service, cocktail ingredients
- Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
- Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
- Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
- Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs (full cocktail tray) for extended periods of time
- Able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, bright lights
- Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded and noisy environment
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs, and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
