The role of Cashier - Food and Beverage (F&B) at San Manuel is a critical position that combines customer service, operational efficiency, and accurate financial transactions. Reporting directly to the Supervisor of Food & Beverage, the Cashier is responsible for providing welcoming and efficient service to guests by taking their food and beverage orders. This includes managing a beverage cart that travels throughout assigned sections of the casino floors and the outdoor pool deck, serving guests with both speed and attentiveness. The position requires candidates who can not only operate the Point of Sale (POS) system with precision but also maintain inventory accuracy, cleanliness, and organization of the mobile or stationary beverage bars.
The Cashier must possess strong interpersonal skills to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, capable of answering questions about products, prices, and general service matters. The role demands excellent time management and multi-tasking ability to serve multiple guests efficiently during busy hours while ensuring compliance with all cash handling protocols such as tip policies. A strong understanding of responsible beverage service is mandatory to monitor and report customers who appear intoxicated or underage, thus ensuring safety and adherence to gaming regulations.
This position emphasizes physical mobility, including maneuvering around busy casino floors and pool deck while maintaining the readiness and cleanliness of the beverage cart. The Cashier also plays a vital role in stock management by monitoring par levels and coordinating restocking operations. Attention to detail is essential for recording inventory changes accurately and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
Candidates for this role need to meet licensing and certification requirements, including obtaining a gaming license if necessary, a current Food Handler’s Card, and California Responsible Beverage Service Certification. Additionally, the position requires that employees be at least 21 years of age with a minimum educational attainment of a high school diploma or GED.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical operations
- Must be able to manage cash transactions accurately and securely
- Must possess or obtain Food Handler’s Card
- Must possess or obtain California Responsible Beverage Service Certification
- May be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license
- No driving responsibilities required

Job Duties
- Learn and understand the fundamentals of the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Process transactions accurately, ensuring all guests pay for their food and beverages and receive correct change
- Maneuver the beverage cart throughout assigned Casino floors and outdoor Pool Deck
- Provide excellent, welcoming, and responsive service to guests
- Select requested items, assemble them on trays, and provide food and beverages to guests
- Set up and stock the beverage cart/bar according to par levels and monitor inventory
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of the workspace and beverage cart
- Maintain knowledge about beers, wine, and food items offered including prices
- Notify supervisor of any problems including guests under the influence or underage
- Perform other duties to support efficient operation of the department
