The Benefits Program Manager role offered through Opti Staffing Group is an exciting hybrid opportunity based in Anchorage, Alaska. This position is ideal for an experienced benefits administration professional who thrives in a government contracting environment and is familiar with Deltek Costpoint. The role involves leading and managing benefit operations for a multi-state workforce, offering a dynamic and impactful position that provides visibility across organizational leadership and long-term career growth potential. Although pay is dependent on experience, the role offers a flexible hybrid schedule and the chance to contribute significantly to enhancing employee benefit programs and processes.
As a Benefits Program Manager, your responsibilities will encompass comprehensive oversight of employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans. You will be responsible for managing daily operations such as enrollments, status changes, terminations, beneficiary updates, claims coordination, and retirement plan transactions. Accuracy is paramount as you will maintain benefit data within HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring seamless vendor file feeds and precise employee record keeping. Your role will also involve serving as the primary contact for employee and vendor questions related to benefits, managing relationships with brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders.
Additionally, you will coordinate monthly benefit billing, reconciliations, and premium payments, supporting annual renewals, open enrollment planning, plan changes, and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes. Effective communication skills will be essential as you prepare employee communications, including enrollment guides, benefit summaries, and training materials. The position also requires assisting with leave administration such as FMLA and disability programs, partnering with HR and leadership on ADA interactive processes and employee accommodations, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and related laws. You will support audits, 401(k) annual processes, census reporting, and required filings while continuously evaluating workflows to recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost savings. Finally, generating reports and analytics for leadership and internal departments will be part of your duties, providing vital insights to support organizational decision-making.
This role offers a unique opportunity to join a stable organization with multi-state operations that values innovation and quality service. It is suited for a detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills who is eager to take on a high-impact position. The Benefits Program Manager position combines the challenge of managing complex benefit programs with the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, making it an attractive option for talented HR professionals looking to advance their careers in benefits administration within the government contracting sector.
