The Bell/Valet position at the Carmel Beach Hotel is a vital role dedicated to ensuring a smooth and welcoming arrival and departure experience for all guests. This full-time position demands a combination of courteous interaction, attentiveness to guest needs, and skilled vehicle handling to provide a seamless service flow that supports the hotel’s overall mission and core values. The role includes greeting guests warmly, assisting with luggage, providing local information about attractions and hotel services, and expertly managing valet parking duties including the maintenance and cleanliness of guest vehicles like Mercedes-Benz. The Bell/Valet also plays a crucial part in maintaining guest privacy through strict confidentiality protocols and key control standards. Additionally, this position supports various in-hotel services, such as delivering amenities to guests' rooms, assisting with dining service during peak times, and keeping the hotel’s public areas clean and orderly.
Candidates must be at least 25 years old due to insurance requirements and must hold a valid California Driver License. Job Duties
- Greet and interact with internal and external guests in a genuinely warm and friendly manner
- Maintain the integrity of the guests' privacy, including confidentiality of personal information and key control
- Greet guests at the front door or car upon arrival, throughout their stay, and at departure
- Escort incoming and outgoing hotel guests to and from rooms, assist with luggage, and offer information pertaining to available services and facilities of the hotel, points of interest, and entertainment attractions
- Inspect the guest room supplies during the refresh/resetting of the coffee tray, beverages in the minifridge, and stripping of the guest room
- Explain features of the room such as the operation of a Wi-Fi network, coffee station, radiant floor heating, etc
- Clean and sweep public areas, tidy the courtyard, and ensure rain procedures are adhered to
- Assist with delivering In-Room Dining breakfast during busy times when needed
- Assist with coffee service, drink service in the lobby or courtyard, and limited food service as required
- Deliver amenities, both perishable and non-perishable, prior to guests' arrival, including champagne, wine, fruit/snacks, caramels, trail mix, flowers, and other requested items
- Maintain cleanliness of Mercedes-Benz as per protocols
- ensure the mileage log is complete daily and provided to front desk
- Valet park and retrieve guest cars as needed
- ensure no parking tickets are issued
- Act as chauffeur for guests as needed or directed by front desk or management team
- Deliver amenities, items, packages, suitcases, and any other requested items
- Coordinate daily tempo with front desk and housekeeping utilizing the room plan
- Maintain the image of the hotel by appearing extremely presentable, well-groomed, and in a pressed uniform
- Adhere to the key control policy and procedure according to set standards
- Responsible for clear and effective communications between co-workers, management, and other departments
- Adhere to and promote Relais & Chateaux, Forbes, and Sorasea Hospitality's mission and standards
- Occupy any downtime with tasks given from front desk, organizing housekeeping spaces/storage, and preparing for increased business levels
