The Bellman position at Azul Hospitality plays a crucial role in creating the first and last positive impression for guests arriving at the hotel. This role involves warmly greeting guests, assisting with luggage handling, and facilitating smooth transitions through various hotel services. The Bellman not only supports guest arrivals and departures but also promotes hotel facilities and local attractions, enhancing the overall guest experience. This position requires individuals who are self-driven, possess excellent communication skills, and are able to work both independently and as part of a team. Essential responsibilities include escorting guests to and from their rooms, managing luggage storage, assisting with the loading and unloading of luggage, coordinating taxi services, and maintaining the appearance and organization of the check-in and valet areas.

The role demands physical stamina, as the tasks frequently involve standing for extended periods, lifting up to 45 pounds, pushing and pulling carts up to 250 pounds, and performing a variety of movements such as bending, stooping, and stretching to fulfill cleaning and operational duties. The Bellman must also demonstrate strong safety awareness, following all traffic laws when operating guest or hotel vehicles, and effectively communicating with guests and colleagues to uphold the service standards of Azul Hospitality.

To excel in this position, candidates must meet specific age and driving requirements, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain an impeccable driving record, including no recent violations related to speeding, DUI, or reckless driving. Prior experience in hospitality is preferred, along with basic computer skills and the ability to use software such as MS Office and property management systems. The Bellman serves as an ambassador for the hotel, contributing directly to guest satisfaction and the hotel's reputation for quality service.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language
  • Valid driver license with good driving record
  • Minimum 3 years of full-time verifiable driving experience
  • No positive drug or alcohol test
  • No more than 2 moving traffic violations in last 36 months
  • No DUI conviction in last 5 years
  • No vehicular homicide, manslaughter, assault, or felony involvement
  • No operating a vehicle with suspended license
  • Must be at least 25 years old to operate shuttle
  • At least 21 years old for other vehicles
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Ability to push and pull carts up to 250 pounds
  • Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours
  • Must maintain neat, clean, well-groomed appearance
  • Regular attendance required
  • Ability to follow all company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, Key system, and POS
  • Valid driver license and meet company insurance requirements
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be at least 25 years old for shuttle operation
  • At least 21 years old to operate other vehicles

Job Duties

  • Welcome and escort guests to and from their rooms and assist with luggage
  • Inform guests of all safety features and promote outlets if time permits
  • Offer information on hotel services, facilities, points of interest, and entertainment
  • Store guest luggage upon request and assist with loading and unloading into automobiles
  • Call taxi for guests as requested
  • Prepare and maintain tour and delivery paperwork
  • Supervise group baggage transfers and amenity deliveries
  • Maintain check-in station appearance and organization
  • Assist other departments with transporting boxes and supplies
  • Promote positive work environment and comply with employee handbook
  • Maintain valet stand, driveway, bell closet, and bell carts cleanliness
  • Safely operate guest vehicles to and from parking areas
  • Follow all assigned duties by manager or supervisor
  • Perform guest inquiries assistance
  • Follow safety and security policies
  • Report maintenance or safety issues
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
