The Bell Attendant role at Thompson Hotels serves as a critical front-line ambassador, embodying the essence of the hotel’s promise of superlative service and refined hospitality. Bell Attendants are in constant communication with the Front Office and Valet teams to ensure guests receive seamless assistance with their luggage and other personal items, supporting smooth transitions to guest rooms and efficient baggage handling.

This role carries the distinct responsibility of creating the first and last impression for guests, placing the Bell Attendant in a high-profile, customer-facing position. Responsibilities include transporting luggage to and from guest rooms, providing hotel orientations, greeting and assisting all guests who pass through the lobby, and maintaining careful records of luggage deliveries and pick-ups. The ideal candidate will have physical stamina, excellent verbal communication skills, and a true dedication to guest satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. Moreover, the Bell Attendant may occasionally perform errands that require local travel, adding a dynamic element to the role.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Must be able to lift moderate weights frequently
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Refined verbal communication skills
  • Ability to tolerate moderate amounts of walking
  • Physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
  • Experience in a luxury hotel or hospitality environment preferred
  • Outgoing and friendly personality conducive to excellent guest relations

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests passing through lobby and offer assistance
  • Deliver luggage to room upon check-in and pick up luggage from room upon departure, moving luggage to storage or the Front Drive
  • Maintain proper records of deliveries and pick-up
  • Assist customers with inquiries about hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions
  • Perform errands for guests and the hotel that may require local travel off of the hotel property
  • Transport luggage to guest rooms for arrivals and from guest rooms for departures efficiently
  • Provide arriving guests with a hotel orientation and guidance
