Job Description
ABS Kids is a dedicated and compassionate organization committed to making a significant difference in the lives of children with autism and their families. With a mission centered around celebrating the "wow moments"—those milestones that mark important developmental progress—ABS Kids fosters a work culture that values diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment. This California-based company focuses on providing evidence-based behavioral health services, supporting children with autism spectrum disorder through individualized behavior plans created by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). The team at ABS Kids believes in learning from varied experiences to build a culture where every individual’s unique story is honored and celebrated. The company is also committed to equal employment opportunities, ensuring a fair and respectful workplace regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for compassionate individuals who want to make a meaningful impact working directly with children or adults with special needs. The role entails implementing behavioral plans under the guidance of BCBAs, providing one-on-one support to clients with autism spectrum disorder, and ensuring a safe, respectful environment for clients and staff. The job includes data collection and recording on client behaviors and progress using specialized software, helping clients develop vital life skills such as motor skills, personal hygiene, daily living, potty training, and social-emotional skills. Candidates must be energetic, creative, dependable, and comfortable with physical activity such as frequently moving on and off the floor to engage with clients effectively.
The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $24.50, depending on experience and qualifications, with additional financial incentives including a $500 bonus after 90 days of employment and an extra increase for Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. The role features paid driving time, mileage reimbursement, paid time off earned with every hour worked, and comprehensive paid training to ensure staff are fully supported. Beyond compensation, ABS Kids offers a 401(k) plan with company match and a robust employee assistance program which includes free financial advice, counseling support, and mental health resources.
At ABS Kids, career development is prioritized through the LAUNCH career path program, which sets clear milestones with rewards such as bonuses and promotions. Employees also enjoy opportunities for free continuing education, CPR and safety training, and a referral bonus program. The work environment encourages connection with colleagues nationwide through a virtual office platform and local events, fostering a strong sense of community amongst staff. This role provides not only fulfilling work making a real difference in children’s lives but also a supportive and growth-oriented workplace cultivating transferable skills for thriving careers in behavioral health.
