Job Description

Kyo is a premier provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, dedicated to empowering children with autism and supporting their families to achieve meaningful and lasting outcomes. Established in 2005, Kyo has grown to become a trusted partner to thousands of families across 11 states, delivering effective, convenient, and child-centric ABA therapy tailored to each child's unique strengths, needs, and goals. The company's mission is deeply rooted in a commitment to maximizing every moment of learning and growth for the children and families it serves, emphasizing evidence-based practices, compassionate care, and individualized treatment plans.

Operating as a leader in the specialized field of ABA therapy, Kyo offers a nurturing environment where children with autism can thrive socially, academically, and emotionally. The organization's approach integrates play-based techniques within real-world settings such as homes, schools, and community environments to foster skill development, independence, and self-confidence in children. Kyo’s team is composed of highly trained professionals who collaborate extensively with families and caregivers to ensure consistent, high-quality therapeutic support.

The Behavior Therapist role at Kyo is a dynamic and impactful position focused on implementing play-based ABA therapy strategies to help children reach their goals. Therapists are responsible for engaging children in meaningful learning experiences while collecting data to monitor progress. These professionals work closely with clinical teams and caregivers, supporting each child’s developmental journey tailored to their individual needs. Kyo values ongoing training and growth, offering its Behavior Therapists paid coursework through its Behavior Therapist Academy, 1-on-1 mentorship, and support in obtaining professional credentials or state licensure.

The position offers competitive compensation in the range of $24.25 to $27.75 per hour in Alameda County, alongside a $1500 sign-on bonus. Kyo provides flexible employment options, including full-time and part-time schedules, to accommodate different lifestyles and commitments. Part-time roles require availability primarily in the afternoons and two mornings or middays, while full-time schedules span Monday through Friday from 8am to 7pm.

Working for Kyo also means enjoying comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, mileage reimbursement, referral bonuses, 401(k) retirement plans with matching, and employee assistance programs. Behavior Therapists gain access to a performance-based rewards scheme called Kyo Climb, which allows earning additional hourly pay and bonuses for attendance and other achievements. Moreover, Kyo fosters career development by assisting with tuition reimbursement for those who wish to pursue advanced certifications such as becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Behavior Therapists will serve diverse communities within Alameda County, including cities such as Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Castro Valley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Sunol, and Union City, commuting approximately 45 minutes between their preferred client locations. This mobile role requires a reliable vehicle and valid licenses to support travel needs.

Overall, the Behavior Therapist position at Kyo is an exceptional opportunity for compassionate individuals eager to make a positive difference in the lives of children with autism through applied behavior analysis. Kyo’s supportive work culture, comprehensive training, and focus on meaningful outcomes create the ideal foundation for professional growth and personal fulfillment in this rewarding career path.
