The role of the Wine and Beer Consultant is pivotal in achieving these aims by providing knowledgeable and personalized assistance to customers. This position is designed for an individual with a passion for the adult beverage industry, particularly in wine and beer, coupled with excellent communication skills and a commitment to outstanding service. As a Wine and Beer Consultant, you will be responsible for sharing expertise on product origins, flavors, and industry trends, offering tailored recommendations that meet customer preferences and enhance their experience. Your responsibilities will extend beyond customer interaction to include supporting the store’s sales and inventory objectives, executing promotional plans, maintaining merchandising displays, and ensuring compliance with all Alcoholic Beverage Control regulations. You will play a key role in organizing in-store tastings and engagement events, helping to drive sales and foster learning opportunities. Ideal candidates are those with previous industry experience or relevant certifications such as Certified Specialist of Wine, Certified Wine Educator, or membership in the Court of Master Sommeliers.

This full-time position requires candidates to be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to work under ABC licensing requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a high school diploma or GED equivalent are also required. The role demands a high level of responsibility, including maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, managing inventory, processing sales transactions accurately, and ensuring all safety protocols are strictly followed. Candidates should be able to take direction effectively, prioritize tasks efficiently, and demonstrate ownership of best practices in all aspects of their work. Job Duties

  • Practice and promote exemplary customer service including greeting every customer answering questions and offering information and suggestions of products
  • Respond to all customer calls or requests within 24 hours
  • Schedule and execute engagement events by conducting in-store tastings following the division specials promotions calendar and supporting tastings scheduled through third parties
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold pronunciation origin and definition of industry terms
  • Execute the adult beverage category display plans and special in-store promotions in consultation with store management
  • Ensure that federal state and local Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) guidelines are always met and check for valid identification of bar patrons
  • Drive sales by executing sales plans corporate programs and following merchandising standards
