The Beauty Advisor role at Ulta Beauty is an essential frontline position responsible for enhancing the guest experience by delivering personalized and expert service. This role includes engaging with guests to identify their unique needs, conducting cashier duties, maintaining merchandise displays, and supporting store cleanliness. Beauty Advisors play a vital part in driving retail sales and service goals by executing makeup applications, skincare analyses, product demonstrations, and booking appointments for in-store services and events.

The Beauty Advisor must demonstrate a deep passion for the beauty industry and possess outstanding guest service skills along with the ability to quickly learn and communicate product knowledge effectively. This role requires teamwork, collaboration with store leadership, and strict adherence to company policies and compliance standards. Beauty Advisors also take initiative to stay informed on product ingredients and benefits to better assist guests and enhance sales.

Flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, are expected to meet the needs of customers, and the position demands physical activity such as standing, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and continuous mobility throughout the store. Safety and loss prevention are also key responsibilities, as Beauty Advisors must protect company assets while providing exceptional service.

The hourly pay for the Beauty Advisor position ranges from $17.00 to $24.50, dependent on education, experience, qualifications, shift, and location. Full-time associates are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Part-time employees receive benefits such as dental, vision, life, and disability coverage. Job Requirements

  • 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships

  • Proficient with basic technology such as Point of Sale system and Apple devices

Job Duties

  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), omni-channel sales, and retail shrink
  • Ensure that each guest receives exceptional service by providing a guest-friendly environment, which includes greeting and engaging each guest entering the store, personalizing service to their needs, answering questions about products and services, informing guests about promotions and sales, and recommending complementary Ulta Beauty products and/or services
  • Courteously handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges and assist with on-line orders
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and the guest service experience
  • Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while delivering on sales goals
  • Take the initiative to stay informed regarding new and existing products and services during work time and be knowledgeable about the ingredients and benefits of these products and services to better serve guests
  • Maintain prompt, regular attendance
