Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food and beverage service
- Experience in table service and positioning
- Responsible beverage service training certificate
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and effectively use P.O.S. system
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in food and beverage service
- Experience in table service and positioning
- Responsible beverage service training certificate
- CPR certification preferred
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Prior experience with P.O.S. system preferred
Job Duties
- Maintain complete knowledge of dining room layout
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture serving temperature, portion size, garnish and method of presentation
- Deliver food in accordance with restaurant standards of service
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
- Learn and effectively use P.O.S. system and manual systems
- Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures
- Complete all opening side duties as assigned
- Organize the assigned station and ensure readiness prior to guest arrival
- Review daily specials and maintain awareness of 86'd items throughout the shift
- Make all varieties of coffee in accordance with departmental standards
- Retrieve all food orders from the kitchen and place on trays in accordance with departmental standards
- Retrieve all beverage orders from the bar and place on trays in accordance with departmental standards
- Understand and anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly
- Acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day and maintain positive guest relations at all times
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities
- Handle guest complaints following the four step procedure and ensuring guest satisfaction
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas
- Complete closing side duties as assigned
- Legibly document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to manager
- Attend menu training, pre-shifts and other required meetings as scheduled
