The position of Batching/Blending Technician at Refresco operates under the supervision of a department manager and plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate preparation of beverage products. This role involves handling ingredients, maintaining filters, and preparing the product for bottling by accurately mixing ingredients according to stringent company quality standards and SAP systems. The technician supplies the production line with blended products in a timely manner and contributes to maximizing product recovery, thus supporting overall production efficiency and customer satisfaction.
This full-time role operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm, with occasional overtime and weekend work as needed to meet production demands. A typical day in this position requires adherence to health and safety policies including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hairnets, safety glasses, and proper footwear. The technician ensures compliance with food safety regulations and quality policies, including FDA, GMP, HACCP, Allergen, Kosher, and SQF standards, maintaining high standards essential for industry leadership.
Key responsibilities include programming bulk ingredient delivery systems, batch mixing following prescribed formulas, recording data accurately, and obtaining blend tank samples for laboratory testing and adjustments in collaboration with the quality department. The technician also maintains sanitation in the work area, performs CIP/COP sanitation of equipment, transports ingredients using forklifts, and manages inventory inspections in line with SAP and food safety guidelines.
Candidates for this role should have at least a high school certification, with 1-2 years of relevant manufacturing experience preferred, especially in high-speed beverage production environments. Formal training in SAP, HACCP, GMP, and hygiene practices is advantageous. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, and strong mathematical and communication skills. The technician should be detail-oriented, attentive to safety, quality, and production efficiency, and possess problem-solving capabilities and basic computer skills for operating production software.

Job Requirements
- High school certification
- 1-2 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds
- Able to perform duties in a high stress and pressure environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Basic mathematical skills including measurements and formulas
- Ability to obtain and sustain forklift certification

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and wear required personal protective equipment
- Ensure compliance with food quality and safety standards including FDA, HACCP, GMP, Allergen, Kosher and SQF
- Handle ingredients, maintain filters, and prepare product for bottling by mixing ingredients accurately according to company procedures and SAP
- Supply production line with blended products timely to maximize product recovery
- Transport ingredients and pre-weigh by forklift as required
- Verify ingredients against SAP, food safety, and inventory parameters before batching
- Program bulk ingredient delivery systems
- Follow batching/blending sheets instructions and record amounts accurately
- Obtain blend tank samples and collaborate with quality department for adjustments
- Maintain sanitation and cleaning of batching/blending area and perform CIP/COP sanitation of equipment
- Remove empty barrels and bins to designated storage
- Receive and unload tankers of bulk concentrates when necessary
- Report non-compliance, product protection, food safety, and safety issues to management
