Job Description

The Eye Tooth is a vibrant and well-established restaurant known for its lively atmosphere and dedication to providing exceptional dining experiences. Located in Anchorage, this popular venue has expanded its services to include both lunch and dinner seven days a week, catering to a diverse clientele. The Eye Tooth is gearing up for its second summer, promising an energetic work environment that combines fun with professionalism. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and skilled Bartenders with open availability, including days, nights, and weekends, to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for ensuring that guests receive outstanding service through expert knowledge of food and beverages, adherence to safety and sanitation policies, and efficient operation of point-of-sale systems. As a bartender at The Eye Tooth, you will be pivotal in creating memorable experiences for customers by accurately taking and serving orders, monitoring guest satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety.

The ideal candidate will be twenty-one years or older, possess a current TAPS Card and Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card, and have experience or a strong interest in bartending within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You should be physically capable of standing for long periods, lifting over 30 pounds, and working efficiently under pressure while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. Familiarity with alcoholic beverage terminology and a proactive approach to teamwork and time management will ensure success in this exciting role.

Job Requirements

  • ability to stand for the duration of the shift with minimal breaks
  • ability to work in noisy, fast-paced environments with distracting conditions
  • ability to lift and carry 30 plus lbs
  • good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • ability to bend, reach, stoop, move quickly, and wipe frequently
  • ability to work in close proximity to coworkers in a fast-paced environment
  • self-motivation and ability to manage time and accomplish tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • basic knowledge of alcoholic beverage terminology

Job Qualifications

  • previous serving or bartending experience is preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • adhere to all safety, sanitation, and alcohol beverage control policies
  • extensive knowledge of the food, drink, and specials menus
  • accurately take, ring in, and serve orders to the customers’ specifications
  • able to use the POS systems with efficiency
  • monitor guests throughout their visit, ensuring their satisfaction with products and services
  • conduct all monetary transactions with attention to detail
  • handle, store, date, and rotate all products properly
  • promptly report equipment and food quality issues to a manager
  • communicate clearly and professionally with all persons in the restaurant
  • complete all opening, closing, and side duties
  • work as a team with your fellow co-workers and treat each other with kindness and respect
