Job Description
The Eye Tooth is a renowned restaurant and bar located in Anchorage, Alaska, known for its vibrant atmosphere and exceptional service. As a popular dining destination, it caters to a diverse clientele seeking both delicious meals and a lively bar experience. The establishment prides itself on fostering a welcoming environment where guests can enjoy a variety of food and drink options in a friendly and energetic setting. The Eye Tooth operates full-time and part-time positions, offering a dynamic workplace for individuals passionate about hospitality and customer service. With its reputation for excellent food, creative cocktails, and a fun, community-oriented vibe, the restaurant has become a favorite among locals and tourists alike.
The Eye Tooth is currently hiring bartenders with open availability, including days, nights, and weekends, to support its expanded service hours. Now open for both lunch and dinner seven days a week, the restaurant is gearing up for its second summer season and aims to build a strong team to enhance the customer experience. This bartending role involves much more than simply mixing drinks; it requires a comprehensive understanding of the food, drink, and specials menus to provide accurate and personalized service to patrons. Bartenders are expected to maintain high standards of safety, sanitation, and compliance with alcohol beverage control policies while ensuring guests enjoy their visit from start to finish.
Employees in this role will become adept at using POS systems efficiently, managing monetary transactions with precision, and monitoring guests throughout their experience to ensure satisfaction. The position demands excellent communication skills and teamwork, as bartenders must work closely with coworkers to maintain a positive and respectful work environment. Additionally, the role involves important responsibilities such as handling, storing, dating, and rotating products properly to uphold quality standards, as well as promptly reporting any equipment or food quality issues to management. Completing opening, closing, and side duties is also part of the job, requiring reliability and a strong work ethic.
The role is suitable for individuals who are self-motivated, capable of managing their time effectively, and ready to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment. Physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and performing repetitive motions are inherent to this position, emphasizing the need for stamina and manual dexterity. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and hold a current TAPS Card and Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card. While previous bartending or serving experience is preferred, it is not required, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or advance their career in hospitality.
The Eye Tooth offers competitive hourly pay plus tips and a comprehensive benefits package, including a profit share bonus program based on restaurant profits. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a 401K plan with company matching, paid time off, and an employee assistance program. Staff members also enjoy perks such as meal and drink plans, free access to movies at the Bear Tooth Theatrepub, free ski and snowboard lift passes at Alyeska, discounted memberships to the Alaska Rock Gym, employee parties, and merchandise discounts. Overall, this is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join a respected and vibrant team while enjoying excellent benefits and career growth potential.
