Job Description
The Eye Tooth is a vibrant restaurant and bar located in Anchorage, Alaska, known for its lively atmosphere and exceptional service. This establishment prides itself on providing a unique dining and social experience, offering a diverse menu for lunch and dinner. Open seven days a week, The Eye Tooth has become a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, especially as it gears up for its second summer of operation. The restaurant emphasizes a team-oriented environment where employees are encouraged to work cohesively and treat each other with kindness and respect.
The role of Bartender at The Eye Tooth is an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments. This position requires open availability, including days, nights, and weekends, catering to the restaurant's expanding hours and customer base. Bartenders play a crucial role in ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience by providing prompt and courteous service, demonstrating extensive knowledge of the food, drink, and specials menu, and adhering strictly to safety, sanitation, and alcohol beverage control policies.
As a Bartender, you will be responsible for taking, ringing in, and serving customer orders accurately to their specifications using the POS system efficiently. Monitoring guests throughout their visit to ensure satisfaction, handling monetary transactions with careful attention to detail, and maintaining proper storage and rotation of all products are fundamental aspects of the job. The position encourages clear and professional communication with all restaurant personnel and guests and expects the successful candidate to complete all opening, closing, and side duties diligently.
Physical stamina is essential for this role as bartenders are required to stand for the duration of their shifts with minimal breaks, work in noisy and busy settings, and lift and carry heavy items exceeding 30 pounds. The ability to bend, reach, stoop, and move quickly is also necessary. Candidates should have good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina to perform their duties effectively.
The Eye Tooth values motivated individuals who manage their time efficiently and can accomplish tasks with accuracy and professionalism. Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverage terminology is expected, with the preference given to candidates who have prior serving or bartending experience. However, experience is not mandatory as training is available for enthusiastic and qualified applicants. The position requires candidates to be at least 21 years old and have valid TAPS Card and Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card.
Joining The Eye Tooth means becoming part of a lively community that offers great benefits, including profit-sharing bonuses when the restaurant is successful, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages, and an Employee Assistance Program. Additional perks such as a 401K plan with company matching, paid time off, a meal and drink plan, and free access to local entertainment and recreational facilities make this a rewarding place to work. Employee parties, merchandise discounts, and participation in seasonal activities like skiing and rock climbing add to the positive and engaging workplace culture.
If you are a team player with a passion for hospitality who meets the age and certification requirements, this bartending opportunity at The Eye Tooth promises a fulfilling career path with room for growth and vibrant social interactions in the heart of Anchorage.
