The City of Arvada is a vibrant and welcoming municipality committed to delivering superior services that enhance the quality of life for every member of its community. Known for its dedication to innovation, passion, and opportunity, the city emphasizes creativity, inclusivity, and excellence in all civic operations. With its core values deeply embedded into every employee's performance plan, Arvada fosters a respectful and inclusive work environment where integrity and accountability are paramount. The city operates various public facilities, including restaurants within its golf club venues, offering residents and guests an enjoyable and high-quality leisure experience.
One of the exciting opportunities available in Arvada is the Bartender position within its established golf club restaurants. This role is essential in providing outstanding guest service by expertly mixing and serving a variety of beverages to patrons, ensuring their satisfaction throughout their visit. It is a tipped eligible position that offers a starting wage of $12.14 per hour with the actual salary placement based on education, experience, skills, and internal equity. This role is a great fit for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, enjoy engaging with the public, and have a solid knowledge of drink preparation and service standards. It involves working evenings, weekends, and some holidays, making it suitable for those who seek flexible, event-driven shifts.
In this position, the Bartender will uphold high standards by maintaining thorough knowledge of beverage menus that include house brand liquors, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options. They will greet guests warmly, employ suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest experience, and handle cash and credit transactions accurately. Bartenders are expected to manage inventory effectively, follow all safety and sanitation procedures, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. The role also requires the ability to carry serving trays, perform side work such as opening and closing duties, and actively monitor and enforce responsible alcohol service in line with liquor laws and restaurant policies.
This position represents a unique blend of customer service and operational responsibilities. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to anticipate guest needs while working independently and as part of a team. The City's commitment to a supportive workplace culture is evident from its equal employment opportunity stance and its emphasis on upholding the values of respect, inclusivity, and professionalism. While the City of Arvada does not offer traditional benefits to temporary and seasonal employees, bartenders in this role will earn sick leave hours and be part of a thriving community-oriented team with opportunities for skill development and advancement.
Joining the City of Arvada means becoming part of a public service team dedicated to excellence and innovation with a mission to enhance the lives of everyone in the community through superior service delivery.
