The Bartender role at Utopian Tailgate is a key position, responsible not only for mixing drinks but also for contributing to the overall guest experience. This role demands a passion for the food and beverage industry and a dedication to fostering a positive team environment. Bartenders at Utopian Tailgate are entrusted with managing their bar section as well as supporting floor operations, ensuring smooth service flow and an energetic atmosphere. Candidates are expected to have deep knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and food to assist in creating perfect pairings and answering guest inquiries intelligently.

Beyond technical skills, the bartender is a pivotal ambassador for the restaurant’s culture. The role requires strong communication skills, organization, and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Bartenders are also asked to participate in daily operational tasks, including restocking, cleaning, and sometimes filling in where needed. Physical demands of the job include long periods of standing and mobility, lifting of heavy items, and working under various environmental conditions. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk a minimum of 8 hours
  • Capacity to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods up to 8 hours
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, carry, use stairs, finely manipulate and key in data
  • Willingness to work in both warm and cool environments
  • Ability to tolerate potential allergens including peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish

Job Qualifications

  • In depth knowledge of food, wine, beer and liquor
  • Ability to communicate positively and efficiently
  • Strong sense of hospitality and understanding of its impact on business
  • Ability to remain calm and respectful under pressure
  • Organized and efficient work habits
  • Ability to maintain a clean work environment

Job Duties

  • Pour beer, wine, mixing cocktails and creating a lively environment for guests
  • Build a culture based around teamwork, execution and hospitality
  • Participate in all day-to-day operations
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation
  • Comply with health and food safety standards, restocking items and cleaning
  • Operate cash register, answer the phone and provide great guest service
  • Follow restaurant group policies and procedures
