Job Description

Whiskey Cake is a vibrant and innovative restaurant located in Las Colinas, Irving, TX. Known for its commitment to exceptional hospitality, this establishment prides itself on creating an engaging and dynamic environment both for its guests and its staff. Whiskey Cake is not just a restaurant; it is a community where passion for quality food and drink meets genuine people-centered service. The restaurant specializes in offering upscale dining experiences with a focus on craft cocktails, whiskey selections, and farm-to-table cuisine. Its inviting atmosphere combines the charm of traditional southern hospitality with a modern twist, aligning perfectly with the tastes of locals and visitors alike. The kitchen and bar staff work cohesively to deliver memorable moments to every guest, making it a preferred dining destination in the area.

The role of the Bartender at Whiskey Cake is essential to the overall guest experience, blending skill, energy, and personality. Bartenders at Whiskey Cake are more than just beverage preparers; they are the front-line ambassadors of the brand’s philosophy that they are, above all else, in the people business. Ideal candidates are outgoing, engaging, and adept not only in the technical aspects of mixology but also in the emotional intelligence required to connect with guests. This full-time, on-site position demands dedication and professionalism, with an emphasis on delivering fast, efficient service without sacrificing quality or warmth.

Bartenders will engage actively with patrons, answering questions and offering recommendations based on an intimate knowledge of drink menus, including craft cocktails, whiskey, beer, and wine. The ideal bartender is comfortable in a high-volume setting and possesses at least two years of upscale service experience. They must have a love for food and drinks, be well-versed in craft cocktails and whiskey, and enjoy creating an entertaining atmosphere. Physical stamina is also necessary, as this role involves standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Professional certifications such as Food Handler's Certification and TABC Certification are mandatory, and candidates must practice proper sanitation and adhere to regulations regarding alcohol service.

Whiskey Cake supports its employees through a comprehensive benefits package including medical insurance for those working an average of 30 hours per week within 90 days of hire or at the following open enrollment. A 401k plan is offered after one year of service for employees aged 21 and older with a minimum of 1,000 hours worked. Additionally, the role provides multiple pathways for professional growth and development within the company. As part of their duties, bartenders maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, manage inventory, process transactions accurately, and collaborate with team members and management to ensure smooth service. The company also emphasizes ongoing education, encouraging employees to continually increase their knowledge of beverages, service techniques, and safety standards.

Within this dynamic and supportive environment, Whiskey Cake bartenders have an excellent opportunity to refine their skills, build meaningful relationships with guests and colleagues, and thrive in a career focused on hospitality and excellence.
