The role of Bartender at PENN Entertainment is vital to maintaining the energetic and welcoming atmosphere within the casino and entertainment venues. This position is responsible for serving guests with professionalism and friendliness, acting as an ambassador of goodwill. Bartenders are expected to promote casino events and programs while providing personalized service, including using guests' names to create a more engaging experience. They handle cash register and POS systems accurately, ensuring integrity in financial transactions.
In addition to pouring and preparing drinks with precise portions and ingredients according to recipes, bartenders are also tasked with monitoring guest alcohol consumption to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment. They keep their workstations clean and organized, follow health and safety guidelines, and assist in stocking and managing inventory using methods such as FIFO. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and leadership.

Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- read, write legibly, understand, and speak English
- available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy, including always meeting uniform standards for the position
- must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
- able to quickly problem-solve and resolve service problems according to guidelines
- able to work in constricting areas
- able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, bright lights
- able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
- physically mobile with reasonable accommodation including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift
- must be able to obtain and maintain required licensures

Job Duties
- Serves as an ambassador of goodwill while working
- promotes casino events and programs
- provides personalized service and uses guest name
- resolves service problems according to guidelines
- works well with others
- practices timely and professional communication with fellow team members and leaders
- operates a cash register/POS system, ringing proper amount and item(s) into the register and giving correct change
- accounts for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedure
- maintains integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities
- prepares and pours drink orders with proper portions and ingredients according to recipe
- presents drinks as required
- monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines
- maintains stock and organization of all liquors, beers, wine, other beverages, glassware, fruit, ice, and other operating supplies including FIFO
- maintains a clean and stocked workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines
- maintains cleanliness and organization at all times of all guest-facing areas, as well as storage areas and cooler(s)
- operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures
