Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent education and experience
- TIPS Certification
- ability to stand for lengthy periods
- ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- ability to walk, talk, hear, taste, and smell
- ability to use hands and arms to handle materials
- physical ability to stoop, crouch, kneel, or crawl occasionally
- knowledge and understanding of Maine State Liquor laws
- ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests and coworkers
- adherence to departmental safety and hygiene standards
- willingness to work nights, days, weekends, and holidays
- punctuality and reliable attendance
- professional presentation and uniform compliance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED

- ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedural documents
- ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- effective communication skills with customers and employees
- basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems
- proficiency with POS systems
- knowledge of safe food handling procedures
Job Duties
- Report to scheduled shifts on time in full uniform
- punch in and out correctly before and after shifts
- act in a professional manner providing friendly, courteous, and efficient service
- pour and serve consistent, quality beverages and cocktails
- have knowledge of drink recipes, presentation, and product availability
- handle all cash, credit, and room charge transactions responsibly
- know current and expired packages and gift certificates and follow proper procedures
- monitor guests' alcohol consumption and prevent over-serving
- manage intoxication situations confidently and seek assistance if needed
- politely handle dissatisfied guests and involve management when necessary
- maintain cleanliness and organization in the bar and lounge areas by completing side work and daily cleaning
- comply with all Maine State Liquor laws
- assist in training new employees
- practice safe kitchen procedures when serving food
- become proficient with the POS computer system
- avoid having non-employees hang out at the bar unless eating or drinking
- keep staff conversations professional and personal conversations to a minimum
- attend all scheduled meetings
- perform other related duties as assigned
